Lesson 5.11: Structured Academic Controversy
In lesson 5.11 you will consider 2 solutions to the Israeli - Palestinian conflict - a single state solution or a two state solution. To complete this analysis you will need to view the presentation and follow the instructions given. You will need your timeline, and the appropriate documents below to complete the assignments. As you are analyzing each data set be sure to note important information in you data retrieval chart to help you organize critical information. In the closing activity you will write a 4 paragraph response on how to solve the conflict that must include an overview of the conflict, arguments for a separate Palestinian state, arguments against a separate Palestinian state, and your recommendation on how to solve the conflict. Be sure to use evidence from the lesson documents to support your response.

Lesson 5.10: The Israeli - Palestinian Conflict
Lesson 5.10 will help you develop background information on the Israeli - Palestinian conflict by reading the textbook and producing a timeline. For this assignment you will need to download the presentation and which will guide you on what pages you will analyze in the textbook. You will have to answer any questions on a separate piece of notebook paper. You will also need a separate piece of notebook paper for the timeline.

Lesson 5.9: The Lost Boys
In this lesson you will learn about the Lost Boys of Sudan. You will need to read Lost Boy Found and take notes on what you learned. Then you will watch the documentary God Grew Tired of Us. While you watch be sure to take notes and complete the movie guide. You will then write 4 journal entries on the Lost Boys, the prompts are provided on the PowerPoint.

For this lesson on globalization you will need 3 things. The lesson presentation, the Journey of an iPhone, and an outline of a global map. Please follow the presentation to guide you through the activity and take notes on a separate piece of paper. You will be mapping the countries / cities of different stages of production. Be sure to color code each stage.

For this lesson on developing countries and non-alignment, just download the the presentation below and follow the instructions. You will need a sheet of notebook paper for and a pen/pencil for this lesson. First, you will analyze photos and determine the characteristics of a developing nation. Then you will write your own definition of a developing country and list at least 4 characteristics.
For non-alignment you will take notes on the next set of slides on non-alignment, the third world, and Gamal Abdel Nasser. You will then describe non-alignment and discuss why Nasser represents non-alignment and the third world.

Lesson 5.3: How was Containment Possible?
For this lesson you will have to download both the lesson 5.3 presentation and the the Lesson 5.3 packet. To complete the first page of the packet you will carefully analyze each photo set in the presentation.
Be sure to describe what you see and predict when and where the photos were taken. (Try to remember where most of the fighting took place during WWII to help you make a better prediction.) Next, you will read pages 512 - 520 in your textbook to answer the questions in the packet. Some of the questions will ask you to match one of the photo sets to what you are learning, remember to make good descriptions when analyzing the photos! After the completing the questions, complete the writing prompt at the end of the packet.
